U.S. Mosque-goers tried to forcibly stop a journalist from filming inside a Mosque after claiming it was sinful.
Journalist Aziz Ahmed was at the Darul Huda Mosque in Springfield, Virginia to cover the beginning of Ramadhan when he was forcefully stopped by Mosque-goers from filming within the Mosque. Ahmed posted the video of the confrontation on his Facebook in which Mosque members can be seen telling Ahmed to stop filming.
The video you made of people praying, you should delete it, otherwise, you will be responsible for committing a sinful act. It is very sinful, you should not take video of the Mosque.says one member.
Shaken by the incident Ahmed posted about the incident on his Facebook and said:
“[So] Filming is Haram in Islam, today I encountered with few Muslims in Dar-Ul-Huda Islamic Center they tried to forcefully stop me from filming prayers and Iftar even when I had a permission from chairman of the center”
