A 55 year old man was killed last night in the Samnabad neighbourhood of Faisalabad.
According to reports around 1’o clock last night 4 unknown men entered the house of Naseem Butt by jumping over the walls of his house and started shooting at him. He was hit in the abdomen and in the back. Afterwards the gunmen escaped from the scene.
Mr Butt was taken to hospital where he passed away due to the serious nature of the injuries. The motive behind the murder soon became clear, the man belonged to the minority ahmadiyya sect and was targeted due to his faith.
He worked at a Powerloom factory and is survived by his wife, four daughters and a son.
Spokesman of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Pakistan, Mr Saleem Udin strongly condemned the murder and asked for immediate arrest of those responsible for the killing. He also pressed for severe punishment for the killers.
Mr Saleemudin mentioned that members of Ahmadiyya community in Faisalabad have long been targeted for their faith. He revealed that Mr Naseer Ahmad Butt a close relative of Mr Naseem Ahmad Butt who lived in the same neighbourhood of Samnabad was also killed in a crowded bazaar last year due to religious prejudice.
It is also worth mentioning that a few months back Khatm-e-Nabuwat student federation openly distributed fliers labelling members of the Ahmadiyya community “Wajibul Qatl” (‘liable to be murdered’), The leaflets encouraged people to attack followers of the faith and also included a list of well known ahmadis.
The spokesperson of the Ahmadiyya community called on the Government to do more about those who incite religious hatred and disturb the peace.
Such atrocities over Ahmadis are the result of accepatance of Imam Mahdi (a.s. God knows all this and the devastation from God over our nation and country is the result of such atrocities.
My Allah, show the people right path of true Islam, Ahmadiyya.
